Flagship of Zurich’s artistic scene is the museum Kunsthaus Zurich who opened in 1910. On three floors it encloses masterpieces that you cannot miss if you are in the city.
Fiore all’occhiello della scena artistica di Zurigo è il museo Kunsthaus Zurich che, aperto nel 1910, su tre piani racchiude opere d’arte che non potete mancare di vedere se siete in città.
Starting from the access floor you’ll find surrealist painters and portraitists where Paul Klee stands out and a series of rooms dedicated to temporary shows. Here you also have a rest stop and a gift shop where you can find really everything.
Partendo dal piano di accesso troverete i pittori surrealisti e astrattisti tra cui spicca Paul Klee e una serie di stanze dedicate invece alle mostre temporanee. Qui potrete trovare anche una zona ristoro e un super fornito gift shop, dove si può trovare veramente di tutto.
On the first floor a wide space is dedicated to the Swiss painting from XVIII e IXX centuries, on the side there are also paints from italian, flemish and german painters of the same age. Another area is dedicated to abstract and metaphysical painting and finally a big space is leaved for temporary exhibitions. In between Swiss artists, a lot of space has been given to Alberto Giacometti.
Al primo piano ampio spazio è dato alla pittura svizzera del 18esimo e 19esimo secolo, a questa si affiancano pittori della medesima epoca italiani, fiamminghi e tedeschi. Un’altra zona è dedicata alla pittura astratta e metafisica e infine ampio spazio è dedicato alle mostre temporanee. Tra gli svizzeri particolare spazio è dato ad Alberto Giacometti.
Second floor is where the most famous artists from the 19th and 20th centuries are enclosed: Segantini, Munch, Chagall, Degas, Renoir, Cézannr, Van Gogh, Kandisky, Matisse, Picasso, Mirò, Monet, Manet, Giacometti, Dahl to write some names. Finally a small part displays Pop Art and contemporary artists.
Il secondo piano è quello in cui vengono custoditi gli artisti più noti al grande pubblico del 19esimo e 20esimo secolo: Segantini, Munch, Chagall, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Matisse, Picasso, Mirò, Monet, Manet, Giacometti, Dahl per citarne alcuni. Infine una piccola parte espone Pop Art e artisti contemporanei.
The gallery is constantly extended thanks to frequent aquisitions of new pieces by new artists, so if you visit it once it doesn’t means that you’ll see it in the same way after some time.
La galleria è in continuo ampliamento grazie alle frequenti acquisizioni di opere di nuovi artisti, quindi averla visitata una volta non significa ritrovarla uguale dopo qualche tempo.
There audioguides available both for the stable exposition and for the temporary ones, you will be asked to leave backpacks and bags into a locker (personally I always find it as a relief!). For the visit you’ll have to consider at least 3 hours, but it will be easy to exceed while admiring the many piece of art exposed.
Sono disponibili audioguide per la mostra permanente e per quelle temporanee, vi sarà chiesto di lasciare zaini e borse negli armadietti (personalmente lo trovo sempre un sollievo!). Per la visita considerate un minimo di 3 ore, ma sarà facile andare oltre apprezzando le tantissime opere d’arte qui esposte.
